1. If you want to work with someone one-on-one in real time, share your Google Docs file with the writing center email address ([email protected]), and include a note to let us know that you would like to work on Google Docs in real time with your tutor. (For example, using the comment or chat function, the tutor suggests a correction or asks a question, and you respond in real time.) You can determine what time you would like to be online, and the tutor will meet you on your Google Doc. Real-time Google Docs sessions are available Monday-Friday between 9am-6pm.
2. If you don't want to work with someone in real time, share your Google Docs file with the writing center email (see above), and you will receive feedback on your work from one of our tutors within 24 hours*.
3. If you are not comfortable using Google Docs, you can send your Microsoft Word document or PDF to the writing center email (see above) and receive feedback on your work from one of our tutors within 24 hours*.
*We need to receive your email by noon on Saturdays to guarantee feedback on Sundays.
You may also email the writing center specific questions about research, MLA or APA citation styles, and advice about any and all parts of your writing assignments. If you have any questions about these options, feel free to email [email protected]. Additional writing and citation resources can be found in MyHolmes, click the three horizontal lines in the on the upper left hand side of the page, then scroll to find the card labeled "Writing A Paper?".
