Holmes Community College Libraries offer free photocopying (with a maximum 15 pages or according to librarian discretion) per day for students under the "Fair Use" portion of The Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. SS107).
Ridgeland:
Use the scanner behind the counter to scan the pages to your email. Scanner directions are located on the sign on the circulation desk on top of the scanner.
Goodman:
Use the copier at the print kiosk on the main library reading room floor.
Grenada:
The copier is located in the main library section. A member of our library staff will assist you with copying. The Computer Lab is equipped with two scanners. The Bulldog Lab has one scanner. Instructions are posted on top of each scanner. Should you require additional assistance, please see the library staff.
*Fair use allows for a single printing of an article or book chapter from a textbook, a chart, cartoon, newspaper components, etc. Fair use does not allow for printing all assignments from a book, copying materials from workbooks, multiple copies of articles or book chapters, or multiple chapters. Assignments and research related to currently enrolled courses by the student would meet criteria for free photocopying (within Fair Use). Any photocopying (student or community) of personal correspondence, pictures, etc. (outside of school-related use) will be subject to a charge (.15 cents per page).
